YouTube Marketing and Advertising

    YouTube is a very good social media platform to market and advertise a brand. There are many factors that I think make it better than many other platforms. Some of these include the publics preference in visual content and the way that YouTube's advertises.

    Today, people prefer to see video over an image. With this in mind, YouTube is the perfect place for the people to go as people can only find videos on there. People would much rather see a video explaining something than to read about it, and brands should take advantage of that. Evidently, businesses do take advantage of this as in Chapter 10 of the Essentials of Social Media Marketing textbook it says that a little over 80% of businesses take advantage of video in their marketing strategies.

    Youtube is one of the best places to advertise because is the most used search engine around the world. This means that businesses on the platform have access to such a wide demographic variety. There are also multiple ways to advertise, which could be through a brand posting a video themselves or by placing an ad in or before another video. To wrap it up YouTube also uses Google Display Network to run brands' ads not only on YouTube, but all over the internet. The Google display Network does a great job of getting advertisements in front of as many eyes as possible as well as offering many targeting options so that brands can reach their target audience.

    All in all, businesses should take advantage of YouTubes large user base and easy access to video.

  1. Youtube makes learning new things very convenient. Instead of reading about a certain topic or business, I can search up on Youtube and have someone explain it to me. This makes things a lot easier and is part of the reason Youtube is thriving.
